What do people think about the china-tibet situation????

I think Tibet should be granted independence from China. They seem to want it bad enough. What I can't understand though is what their problem is with China. China increased their literacy rate from somewhere around 30% to 60%, and has dumped money into Tibet. Built schools, roads, hospitals... Tibet has no source of income, so why separate? Why not try to integrate instead?
