Grappling Tournament help!?

To enter a grappling tournament, do you have to actually train at a grappling or mma gym? Cause I know some BJJ because my wrestling coach at school is a brown belt and he teaches me some stuff after practice. So I was wondering is I could just enter with my wrestling experience(10 years) and what little BJJ i've learned?
